Saturated Star Rectification
for IRAC & MIPS

** This utility may be used to identify and rectify saturated stars located within IRAC BCD images.** It uses a set of tools that were developed with MacOSX running unix. Included with the same distribution is a program version that will do these steps in an automated fashion (it does not need iraf or ds9). Below are the install directions and some brief tips for using the tool. Contact T. Jarrett for the file installation.

This utility allows the user to:

• interactively choose the saturated star to rectify, or,
  
• use a 2MASS star table to automatically identify saturation candidates (crater finder)
  
• mask neighboring (contaminent) stars
  
• identify and recover saturated pixels
  
• compute the integrated flux of the rectified star
  
• rectify the BCD image and write out the new FITS file

The crater finder utility requires the user to supply a table of 2MASS stars appropriate to the image field. This table may be created using IRSA's GATOR database.
