Saturated stars prove difficult to identify and to recover their lost flux. The first point is solved by "crater" identification, wherein saturated stars exhibit a profile with reversal in counts for the pixels that saturate (creating a "crater" profile). The second point is solved by recovering saturated pixels by using a PSF model that is fit to the non-saturated wings of the star.
